West Virginians are Demanding
a Reliable Electric Grid
President Trump says America needs a stronger power grid and more than 6,000 West Virginians (and counting) agree!
“Lack of reliability in the electric grid puts the national and economic security of the American people at risk.”
Donald J. Trump
The petition
We stand with President Trump in fighting for an America First economy and unleashing America’s energy dominance.
But we cannot win that fight with an electric grid built for the last century. Weak, aging power lines hold America back.
We call on West Virginia’s public officials to support new, modern transmission lines that support an America First economy, unleash America’s energy dominance, make our communities safe and secure, while leading to affordable energy prices.
Signed,
7,000+ West Virginians

West Virginia’s economic future depends on a stronger grid
“New transmission projects mean jobs for skilled West Virginia workers. Modern infrastructure keeps our lights on and our people working.”
“Growing West Virginia manufacturing requires reliable power, which means modernizing our grid. A stronger and more resilient grid keeps our plants running, our workers on the job, and our products moving to market.”
“West Virginia can’t grow on yesterday’s electric grid. Our businesses need modern, reliable transmission to expand, hire, and compete — or we’ll lose jobs and investment to other states.”
Why West Virginia Must Modernize Its Grid
The case is straightforward.
- West Virginia ranks near the bottom nationally for infrastructure that supports economic growth.
- Electricity demand has doubled over the past 40 years, but the grid has not kept pace.
- Power outages cost U.S. businesses $150 billion every year and raise costs for families.
- West Virginia has the energy to grow, but new generation cannot move without new transmission.
- Aging transmission equipment drives longer and more frequent outages, especially in rural areas.
Without action, West Virginia falls further behind
“West Virginia has the energy! What we need is a stronger transmission network to turn that energy into jobs, in-state economic growth, and energy exports that bring tax revenues back home. Without a reliable grid, we lose factories, investment, convenience and good-paying jobs.”
